Our new MRI equipment, with a larger opening, is convenient for claustrophobic and overweight patients who could not pass this examination elsewhere in conventional MRI machines. Approximately one or two patients per week are unable to pass an MRI examination in a conventional apparatus with a 60 cm opening and a tunnel of 160 cm. However, our MRI equipment with a 70 cm opening and a short tunnel of 125 cm, has accommodated almost all claustrophobic and overweight patients who came to the clinic and those who have been referred to us by other clinics or hospitals who have a conventional MRI apparatus. These patients are usually delighted by the experience and happy to have been able to pass this exam which contributes to the maintenance of their good health.
